Ebony Payno, M.A. has been instrumental in assisting families throughout Georgia by helping students with their educational, professional and personal endeavors since 2003. She works diligently to ensure the diverse needs of her students, in collaboration with their parents, are being met and handled with care. Leaving sunny San Diego, California, Ebony traveled 3000 miles to Atlanta, Georgia, to study School Counseling at Clark Atlanta University. Igniting her career with Fulton County Schools in 2006, she has worked at various high schools in North and South Fulton County as well as Cobb County Schools. Prior to 2006, Ebony has had extensive experience counseling students through C5 Georgia, CAU Upward Bound, and CAU and CSULB Educational Talent Search programs.

​Navigating a student's educational destiny can be a very tedious, stressful, and overwhelming process for the entire family. Ebony's school counseling background helps to elucidate the process by implementing structure, guidance, and a serene environment that helps the student to embrace and unlock their innate qualities of Determination, Relentlessness, Innovation, Vision, and Excellence. Writing thousands of college letters of recommendations, becoming nationally certified as a dropout prevention specialist, annually attending a wide variety of college visits and counselor workshops, facilitating countless workshops on College and Career Planning, and conducting Scholarship and Financial Aid seminars, Ebony is well equipped and highly driven to spread her tools for success across the nation. For over thirteen years and counting, she works with students and families in advising them on their personalized educational paths as well as time management/prioritizing skills, academic planning and study skills.

Ebony's educational background, extensive experience, and ongoing professional development allows her to focus on meeting student's academic, social and personal needs as well as provide up-to-date information in an ever-changing educational arena.​ She is the 2019 recipient of the Cobb County School District and the Georgia School Counselor Association Writer of the Year Awards. Ebony graduated from California State University at Long Beach with a B.A. in Organizational and Interpersonal Communications and received a Master's Degree in School Counseling from Clark Atlanta University. She is also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Georgia School Counselors Association, American School Counselors Association, and the National Association of College Admissions Counseling. Ebony has served as the Peer Helper Committee Chair for the Georgia School Counselors Association as well as presented at the GSCA, GAPBS, ASCD, and National Youth At-Risk Conferences. She has also served on the High School Advisory Council for the University of Georgia and currently serves with Oglethorpe University, Career Girls, and CAU's Counseling Department.
